Don't tell anybody, but I've been letting my 9-yr-old son play a little Blood Omen 2 every day. He's surprisingly good at it. In some ways (the fighting ways) he's better than I was when I played it, what, 7 years ago? I mean, he defeated Sebastian on his third try! His third ever. Wow. He's up to the Eternal Prison. I think the only thing I did for him was defeat Faustus, and that was only because he was intimidated by bosses at first. I never took the control with Sebastian, but I did tell him the strategy. Marcus he defeated entirely on his own.I'm trying to get some things done this week because I've decided our official back to schoolwork day will be the 8th. Of course, he's been doing schoolwork all summer, but on the 8th, it'll be back to the true grind.
I'm getting closer to being done with a new video. I hope it turns out *sigh* something close to what I originally had in my head. They never come out exactly the way I would have liked. I end up convincing myself it's "good enough." There will be two versions of this one. I realized that I would have to make the video with the music first, before I could add my "displaced audio." And it's not bad with music alone, so I thought, Why not?
I have some emails to catch up on. I hope to get to those today. My recent insomnia has thrown my schedule off, and as always, I never know when a bout of fatigue will send me to bed. I didn't get to sleep until nearly 4am today, and I was up with the dog at 6:20am, woke up at 9:40am and started to get up for the day, and finally woke up and stayed up at 11:20am. The kid didn't fall asleep until around 2am, so we got up at the same time. I've got to do something about this!
But for today, I've got bank statements to go through, emails to reply to, writing and editing to do, and more video editing to do. Oh, the laundry. . . . *sigh* I forgot. And I have to vacuum again since the dog chewed bits of his blanket off all over the rug. I have to work on the video at the end of the day. Once I'm on it, it's all I can do. It takes all my concentration.
The fic that was called Threnody is much improved after revisions and is still on schedule to be posted at ff.net. I've got to get back to work on the others, too. Ugh.
Engraved on my headstone (if I'm not cremated) should be, "Her work was never done." I swear, I'm always either running and getting nowhere, or collapsing altogether.
